I Long to be Free

On the road I go again,
Seems to be where I’m meant to be.
The only home I’ve ever found,
To clearly show me the road in front of me
I long to be free.

This land of ours is beautiful,
There is so much out there that you still haven’t seen.

The city lights they blind the eyes,
Of the ones who stay within the city streets
The city lights they blind the eyes,
Of the ones who stay within the city streets

Each and every town and city that I pass along the way,
The people change, the sky’s a slightly different shade of gray.
Every hundred miles, the grass it changes green.
They’ll never know where I came from, or all I’ve ever seen.

You might say you’re having fun,
But I can only hope that you really are
In those synthetic lighted, run down trashy bars
Those synthetic lighted, run down trashy bars.

The city lights they blind the eyes,
Of the ones who stay within the city streets
The city lights they blind the eyes,
Of the ones who stay within the city streets

I long to be free, the rivers and the trees
The skies and the seas
Living how we’re supposed to be
Step outside and take a walk, maybe then you could actually breathe
If you listen to the world around you, life will give you more than you could ever dream.
